PAIA – The Hawaiian Language Immersion Program on Maui will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a public event beginning at noon Tuesday at Paia Elementary School. The program is a project of the state Department of Education that provides students in kindergarten through 12th grade with educational instruction in the Hawaiian language. Students, teachers, parents, administrators and community supporters plan to come together for the anniversary program.
